TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - July 14, 2014) - Enbridge Gas Distribution plans to vent natural gas for a short period of time between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Tuesday July 15 - weather permitting.
People in the area of Innes Road between Highway 417 and Blair Road in Ottawa may notice the smell and sound of natural gas venting as it is released in a safe and controlled manner.
Natural gas is being vented to allow us to take a pipeline out of service. Controlled natural gas venting is a standard maintenance practice.
Although the situation is safe, those nearby may find the smell or noise unpleasant and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Enbridge Gas Distribution will be answering all emergency calls during this time. Anyone who suspects a natural gas leak in their area should call 1-866-763-5427.
