TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - July 19, 2010) - Enbridge Gas Distribution Inc. (TSX:ENB) (NYSE:ENB) is making it easier for eligible homeowners in its Ontario service area to switch to natural gas by offering up to $250 in rebates for switching their home heating and water heating to natural gas before September 30, 2010.

Homeowners can take advantage of one of the following three rebates when they become new Enbridge Gas Distribution customers after June 15, 2010 and purchase or rent and install:

1. An ENERGY STAR® qualified high-efficiency furnace and conventional/power vent or tankless water heater ($250 rebate);
2. An ENERGY STAR® qualified high-efficiency furnace only ($125 rebate); or
3. A conventional/power vent or tankless water heater only ($75 rebate)

Homeowners may be eligible for this rebate offer if:

• they have natural gas available on their street;
• their address is not presently serviced by Enbridge Gas Distribution; and
• their residence is at least one year old (new construction homes are not eligible for this program).

Applications for natural gas service must be submitted and accepted by Enbridge before September 30, 2010. Completed rebate forms must be submitted together with proof of rental or purchase and be postmarked on or before October 15, 2010. Gas service must be activated by December 31, 2010. Only one rebate application per address will be accepted.

Enbridge is also providing homeowners within its franchise area free tree planting seeds. Homeowners are encouraged to visit www.naturalswitch.com and order their free tree planting 'seeds of change' kit from Enbridge. After planting their tree seed, homeowners can share where they planted their seed by plotting it on a map. They are encouraged to visit the website often to see how far the 'seeds of change' travel.
