TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Nov. 5, 2008) - Enbridge Gas Distribution (TSX:ENB) (NYSE:ENB) is offering customers living in homes built before 1980 and heated by hot-water radiator systems free Novitherm™ Heat Reflector panels. The program was first introduced in March 2007 and has recently been extended to December 31, 2009.

Owners of older homes are faced with structural obstacles that may prevent them from easily improving energy efficiency. Homes built before 1980 with hot-water radiators are susceptible to significant heat loss. Heat from radiators is absorbed and lost through poorly insulated exterior walls.

The free Novitherm™ Heat Reflector panels are installed between radiators and the adjacent exterior walls. The scientific design and aluminized surface of the panel reflects more than 90 per cent of the heat back into the room rather than escaping through the exterior wall behind it. This improves comfort and uses less energy to heat the home. Using less energy saves customers money and helps reduce their environmental footprint.

Enbridge Gas Distribution is committed to helping customers use energy efficiently. Through its ongoing energy efficiency programs it has helped customers reduce natural gas use by about 3.6 billion cubic metres and saved 6.9 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions. That's equivalent to the amount of natural gas needed to serve about 1.1 million homes for a year or taking about 1.5 million cars off the road for a year.

Enbridge Gas Distribution will provide up to a maximum of 39 free Novitherm™ Heat Reflector panels per customer. Customers are responsible for paying a $25 flat shipping and handling fee.
